From the plots we ve taken we re going to be doing a lightweight cab with neo creambacks the creamback is more scooped than the g12 neo at around 1 5khz and has considerably less top end at 2 5 4khz.
Neo creamback vs ceramic.
All settings were kept the same.
The neo creamback is a great speaker but if weight isn t a factor then get the ceramic creamback instead it s just that bit more open and fuller sounding.
I would venture to say the sound is more transparent with a high definition top end that is sweetly compressed.
The difference is it s built with a neodymium magnet.
Making this speaker around half the weight of a traditional ceramic magnet speaker celestion s engineers have developed a new and innovative way to better harness the mighty forces of the neodymium magnet enabling us to create a guitar speaker that can deliver authentic creamback tone with ease while preserving the benefit of neodymium s much lighter weight you still get the low end punch warm vocal midrange and sweet refined.
Its most noticeable feature is its employment of a neodymium magnet making it super lightweight at 4 2 pounds but preserving all the tonal characteristics of the celestion g12m creamback which it s based upon and which is almost four pounds heavier because of its ceramic magnet the cream is a beautiful 12 inch speaker with a creamy retro paint job but its tonal magic comes from its pure alnico magnet.
Using a les paul and a tele and marshall and vox heads the neo came very close to replicating the growl and focused vocal like midrange of the ceramic creamback.
Neo has a bit more bass but it s kind of a more open bass than the m65 and kind of slots somewhere between the m65 creamback and the g12h75 in terms of sound imho.
Played through redplate bluesmachine 66.
Here is short comparison of theese three speakers.
Same price as the h ceramic magnet creamback apparently.
In this day and age if you put 10 brands of neo cabs and 10 brands of ceramic cabs in a room and blind tested them there would be no impact of type of speaker.
They would all sound different and for the vast majority of players some of the neo s would sound better than some of the ceramics and vice versa.
