My shower is leaking through the floor.

Open the access panel behind the bathroom wet wall to inspect the bathtub s water valves.
If your shower leaks behind wall most times you can t tell from the front side of the shower.
The idea is to use the process of elimination and keep looking for any evidence of a leak each step of the way.
If the water is seeping up through the floor it could be a result of insufficiently sealed foundations or there could be cracks in the foundation floor.
Shower pan leaks leaky shower floor if your water leak is coming from your shower floor then it may be obvious already you have a broken shower pan.
This is usually cause by water spraying from the leak in back of the wall.
So you have to do one of the two things.
If you see a leak at this point there likely is a problem with the shower base.

Over the years the joint wears out or the flaw in the casting process of the valve rears its ugly head.

The most common causes are the shower pan and or a drain pipe.
If you find some you re in for a new shower pan or shower floor to stop the leak.
One other sign of a shower leak behind the wall is the drywall tile in front of the valve becomes spongy.
Determine where your shower is leaking.
Depending on which floor this shower is located you might see water or water marks on a ceiling or when you look in the basement or crawl space.
Of course if the leak is severe enough that you need to put a bucket on the floor to collect the water then immediately contact your local plumber.
Splash leaks are simply water escaping past a shower curtain or a shower door.
Check for cracks even very fine ones anywhere on the pan.
Run a new bead along the floor tub joint.
If the crack is inside the shower that is a bigger problem because there should be a waterproof membrane under the tile floor and it should not cause a leak.
If the faucet valve in the wall behind the tub is leaking water may be dripping down through the wall cavity to the ceiling below.
Such a leak will be quite steady.
